Introduction

This clinical case involved the rehabilitation of element 24 with a prosthetic crown on a Neodent Universal Abutment 3.3x4mm. Materials and Methods

  • Prosthetic Solution: Neodent Universal Abutment 3.3x4mm
  • Patient Record: Intraoral scanning
  • Planning Software: Exocad

Procedures

1. First Scanning Appointment

An initial intraoral scan was performed to capture the mandible, maxilla, and the positioned scanbody, documenting the implant position. However, the presence of swollen gingiva necessitated a second scan for improved accuracy.

2. Second Scanning Appointment

A follow-up appointment was conducted to record a more precise scan, ensuring the gingival tissue had settled. This scan was essential for achieving a proper fit for the prosthetic crown.

3. Use of the Dental Copy Tool in Exocad

The Exocad software’s dental copy tool was utilized to reuse the anatomy approved by the dentist from the second scan. This step maintained consistent and high-quality results in crown planning.

4. Crown Cementation

The finalized crown was cemented directly in the patient's mouth, ensuring a precise fit. This process provided the patient with an effective and comfortable dental restoration.
